Dr Rachelle Smyth completed her medical training in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1998 with a bachelor of medicine/surgery. (MBChB). She has worked in various hospital positions including emergency medicine, paediatrics, psychiatry, ear nose and throat and diabetes. She did her GP training in rural Scotland and Oxfordshire, England and became of Fellow of General Practice in 2005 (RCGP/ RACGP). She enjoys travelling and has worked in hospitals and GP surgeries in Scotland, England, Ireland, and New Zealand.
She and her husband and their 2 young boys decided to move to Australia in 2009. She worked in a Cairns GP clinic for 2 years then moved to the Sunshine Coast 4 years ago. She feels she has found the place where she wants to settle and is keen to start working with us.
She is interested in all areas of General Practice, including kids, women's health, antenatal care, chronic disease care, mental health care and musculoskeletal health.
She enjoys running, cycling, surfing and hanging out with her boys.
